We will be in Morgantown West Virginia . . . Has anyone had any experience in this area? Also, any suggestions about best route or pitfalls for RV from Tulsa, OK to WV? . . .
Went to college there, but that was almost 50 years ago, so not recent enough to be much help. I can't remember any RV parks in the 1960's, but then that wasn't a concern to me back then.
All things being equal, I would suggest you find an RV park east of town, near Cheat Lake or Cooper's Rock SP. Second choice would be north. Very pretty either direction and probably the easiest access to the stadium area.
The best route getting to Morgantown is probably entering WV from I-64 in Kentucky. then north from Charleston on I-79. Very little traffic from 10 miles N of Charleston to near Clarksburg.
I don't like driving I-77 across southern WV. Steep and crooked by interstate standards, and usually far too much traffic. Most of it is 60 MPH limit, yet too many think they need to drive 75 or 80. North of Charleston, I-77 is okay.
