Motor Home Windshield Install

I have a 2007 Newmar Canyon Star. Had passenger side windshield replaced 2 summers ago in Portland Or. Fit perfectly. Installation was done at campground by mobile unit. They did confirm windshield number repeatedly to make sure correct piece was installed.

That is what I've been told as well.

Both of my windshields were replaced before I bought my coach, and they don't quite fit perfectly. They also don't leak. Friends that have had their windshield's replaced have mentioned gaps of 1/4 inch or more at the curves where they could seen thru the gaps between the new glass and the fiberglass front cap. It is just something we have to live with.

RV Glass Experts in Phoenix, AZ replaced both windshields on my Journey. I watched the removal and replacement. I could not tell any difference between the old and new. They offer a nationwide warranty on every installation.

we've had three windshield replacements on two different class A MH's and all were done properly...no gaps or wind leaks. couldn't tell the difference between before and after. hopefully you went thru your insurance for the repair. let them know the job was not done properly and insist on having it corrected. if you paid out of pocket then contact the company owner, manager, etc.

About the same here with the line up. Our passenger side was broken and after replacement I notice where the glass meet at the middle the new glass was out board about 1/4". The upper right hand corner of the new glass doesn't make the curve as the old one did. I ask the installer about it and was told there is no way to bend the glass to fit right. He said he would take it back out and try to reset. But if the glass broke taking it out it was on my nickle. That was 5 or 6 years ago and no problems from the fit has showed up, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I've learned a valuable lesson from this thread. If I ever do have to have windshield glass replaced (and I hope that I do not), I must remember to talk with the glass company in ADVANCE of the work being done so that I have a clear expectation regarding the result.

Mine was allready replaced before I purchased. There was a receipt for it in a folder. You can't tell the old from new.

Difference may be OEM or aftermarket glass. Many glass companies order OEM windshields when doing replacements - others do not.
