Well we purchased our first used 72 - 18 ft Brave in 1978 and it was trouble free the entire time we owned. in 82 we purchased a 78 - 24 Sightseer and again was trouble free. It had a 413 MOPAR engine with a Holly carb. which pulled like gang busters. In 1987 we purchased a 85-34 ft Cruise Air which had a few problems like the fan clutch went out once but again was trouble free. 1n 1999 we ordered a 99 - 34 ft Coachman Santara which was a disaster from the word go. The Ford chassis was not a problem but the box built by Coachman had issues, not the least was the slide rollers allowed the slide to cut the flooring. In late 2001 we ordered a 2002 DSDP and received delivery in March 02. Was trouble free with minor issue which we sold in 2018.
So there you have our 40 year history and we are now

Compared to some of you I am a fairly new in the motor home world. My first motor home I took delivery 18 years ago on May 16, 2001. Then in Dec. 2002 I took delivery of my first diesel, both being Nationals. Took off for the East coast without thought or worry shortly after delivery both times, no problems . Now I'm on my third, a Newmar Canyon Star since a year ago January and I follow forums and it is scary when you read about people's problems. Even the conversations on Open Road Forum has changed. Do you feel that the RV manufacturing is getting more sloppy or is it Government requirements that are the problem. Even with automobiles, I own 9 cars, 8 of those being General motors (6 are business cars) and am having problems that I have never experienced in the 37 years I have been in business.
