My 1996 Sahara has all the original appliances; furnace, fridge, A/Cs microwave. I'm replacing the cooktop this year, not because the old one is broken, but because the DW wants a 3 burner.
The rig is coming up on 150,000 miles with no hint that the CAT 3126 is feeling it's age. Ive had some minor issues - rad expansion tank and a parking brake pressure switch - and I pulled the old jack knife sofa out and replaced the carpet, but pretty much everything else is original. It's had some water damage due to a leaking solar panel that has been fixed and both roof seams have been Eternabonded and Dicored. Even the black and gray tank valves are original.
I work at an RV parts store with a service center and we're selling parts and fixing things that are breaking on 3 year old coaches. And it's things like slide out mechanisms, cracked skylights and leaking windows. Owners are amazed at the lack of quality. On one supposedly high-end coach, we have replaced the refrigerator twice.
I see people justify spending money on a new coach for all sorts of reasons and "not buying someone else's problems" is always in there. It must really be painful to realize that you paid a premium for a new coach only to buy the manufacturer's problems.
