I have a Hydralift 4800 motorcycle rack that is mounted on my 2005 Allegro Bus. I've had it for 2 years. I was going to try to sell it on eBay, but it has to be taken off by a professional and packed and shipped and the cost is just going to be prohibitive.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to sell something like this when you travel full time?
I'm going to be around Maine for a few weeks, then heading back to the midwest, then to the southeast - all between August 25th and October 20th! Hard to sell something when you are a moving target! I'm willing to meet someone within a reasonable distance - but not willing to go way out of the way and waste the gas $$ because I'm selling it for a lot less than it cost.
I sold the bike - now I just want to get this 600 pounds weighing me down off the back as well.
Thanks for any suggestions! Please share if you know anyone interested!
First off, pretty sure your Hydralift doesn't way 600 lbs. I mounted one on my coach and it was very close to 375 lbs. We loved it. We carried our '08 Honda GL 1800 Goldwing on it. And, we towed various toads with it. As for selling yours, there are buyers out there. When I installed mine, I knew that someday, it was possible that we'd not want it anymore so, it was bolted on, not welded. I could have welded it but, bolts were just as secure.
When we sold ours, we lived in San Diego. I removed it, got an old 8' long pallet, loaded it all on there, strapped it down with plumbers tape, about 6 bands of it from once side to the other. They were so tight, they were like guitar strings.
We shipped it to Pennsylvania. I have no idea what the shipping was, the purchaser paid for it. I sold the unit for $2,500. It was in perfect condition. They are by far, the best lift/carrier on the market.
