You need to speak with your insurance person as you may not owe a deductible depending on your coverage. On my insurance I pay for uninsured motorist coverage which includes a deductible waiver. So if I'm hit by an uninsured motorist (which includes a hit and run driver) that means my insurance basically becomes the other person's insurance and covers my loss. So I can then access the liability portion of my insurance if I'm injured and the collision portion of the insurance covers my damage and the deductible waiver covers the deductible.
