Motorhome inspection in Maryland

We are on a temporary tag from Pa. where we purchased our motorhome. It's time to get it inspected so we can do our Maryland registration. We've hunted the Md.gov and DMV sites, searched the web for inspection stations for MH's in Md. and cannot find any listings of garages that can inspect Class A's that are less than an hour and half away from us. We are in Cecil Co., will go to Harford Co and Kent Co. to get the inspection.... Anyone have information to help us? This is crazy!

  • Any garage licensed to inspect trucks---1 ton and above---can inspect a motor home. I have had it done in Glen Burnie, and Annapolis.....Don't know why the DMV would have this info.....Good thing is you only have to do it ONCE!!!!!
  • Not all of the local RV dealers are licensed state inspection locations. Look for a local Frieghtliner, Cat, or medium duty truck shop. They will either be or know a place to take the RV. When I bought my Monaco I lived in MD, I happen to find a place in Fredrick that did medium duty truck work and had no issue with the inspection. The nearest RV dealer was another 35 minutes north that could do it and they recommended them as easier to work with.

I imagine any local RV dealer would either inspect it or tell you where to go.
