So, for an HOA, the easiest solution is NO rvs, boats, trailers of any kind on the property. And in my view they have to do that because of the endless bickering about what is unsightly vs. "my property, my rights".
Not just an HOA, we're talking city ordinance here. In our town it's no RV's in the front which is a pretty standard ordinance in many towns in California. A few towns don't allow RV's on your sideyard either, and I think that's going too far, but I don't live in one of those towns, and I wouldn't.
