I am convinced that if you bought a $300,000.00 diesel pusher drove it around the block bringing it back to the same dealership and telling them you would like to sell it to them they would tell you it is worth $100K. They would reference a mystical wholesale book that shows that value. If you ask to see the book they would not let you. They would tell you that they have to spend 10K to get it ready for sale. They would have to do this that and the other thing. I am all for a company making a profit but these dealerships are too much. I know I can sell it myself but trading in is much easier.
Motorhome dealers are a business. A business needs to make money or it will shut down. That means they will do their best to make money on every sale. So yes, if you paid $300k and wanted to sell it back the very next day they are not going to give you $300k for it. Why would they when they can order a brand new one from the factor for $250k which is what they paid for yours to begin with?
X2 your right on. Couldnt have said it better...Salesmen will act like your their relative and you'll say "gee what a wonderful guy" He must be honest so I think his price must be right.Pay no attention to these wonderful attitudes, their there to get every dollar they can from you. No mister nice guy.... Yeah its the good ole American way.Like someone said its called capitalism..
