Many motor homes ARE travel trailers with a motor! The interiors are often very similar because many of them are produced by the same manufacturers who add the engines and other necessities to make them motorhomes. That being said, think of how much those additional parts cost. To upgrade to a better interior on a travel trailer or 5er, you'd have to pay a good bit more. Same for a motorhome. Three years ago we purchased a slightly used MH (a 2007 Georgie Boy Pursuit, 32', with 2 slides - and only 8,000 miles on the motor) for less than $50,000. It has all the bells and whistles we wanted - an upgraded interior from any TT we had owned, but not what I deem to be 'unnecessary' extras like a fireplace, granite countertops, etc. Yes, it looks like a nice Travel trailer inside - but it's the motorhome we always wanted. It has what we want, fills all of our needs, and didn't bankrupt us at all - so we can still afford to put gas in it and go!!! All depends on what your 'wants' are and what you expected the cost of a MH to be.
