Motosat and Direct TV-Beware of giving up your receiver

I had the same notification but I kept my old RCA receiver. I dont have the Motosat but I do have the old Datron system. I can use a new receiver with it but its in a simi auto mode, with the old RCA receiver, you get the low speed data port which links with my Datron making it fully auto. Direct TV wants to get rid of all the customer owned receivers.....they basically told me I could keep it as long as I pay the additional receiver cost.
