Mounting a TV in the bedroom

We don't have a TV in our bedroom, and it's sort of hard for both my wife and I to watch it up front while in the bed. So we wanted to mount a small TV back there. There is already a coaxial jack for it so the hardest part is just to actually figure out how to mount it.

What is the typical way to do this? Just a normal TV Mount into the wall or is there something special. Obviously I don't want to damage the wall and Don't want the TV to fall.

There is a small stand where a TV was meant to go already built in as well. Not sure if I'm supposed to mount it to that. It's sort of small and in an odd place so I was thinking about not using it.

Any suggestions?
  • I can't wait until they make TV's that can project (very clearly) on the wall from cell phones... Though I can't complain.... I have huge memories of large CRT TV's and getting those into the RV....

I wonder if anybody ever put a console TV in their RV. I'm sure it's happened.
  • Could you take and post a picture of the area where the coax plug is?

Very cool. I need to measure what sort of TV can fit on that stand, but that would solve lots of problems right off the bat.

    Thanks
  • I mounted mine on a moveable arm attached to the metal frame. There is an AC outlet, and a DC outlet as well as a coaxial connection right there for this purpose. I do not however travel with the television hanging, I lift it off the swivel and set it on the bed. It only takes a minute to reconnect when we arrive at our destination.
  • We used the tie downs below to hold a 19" flat screen on a stand in our last fifth wheel for about 4 years with no problems. Most of todays TVs are very light and come with a sturdy stand. Used 4 smaller black ones on our base.
Might let you use your night stand. Good luck.

Won't let me make a clicky, cut and paste in browser.
