The Trav'ler is excellent and I have had one installed on my RV ever since they were introduced. The new Trav'ler is fully SWM and HD capable so any receiver currently sold by DirecTV will work including the Genie and client setup.
We request a site at the campground where satellite is available as being "deep in the trees" is not an interest of ours. If you like to go deep you can buy a tripod setup from a company like TV4RV.com . They have a complete RV setup and with a pick of practice it should take less than 30 minutes start to finish to get setup.
Many folks with a Trav'ler have a Tripod as well but I have never needed one traveling full time with satellite TV since 2000.
