In our new RV the electric water heater switch is on the water heater..has anyone moved this switch inside? Seems to be quite inconvenient to have this switch outside on the heater itself.. I am thinking it shouldn't be too difficult to move!!!!
this is a electric only HWT I will assume.? seems very odd to me there is no inside switch? maybe its on a dedicated breaker if so switch it on/off that way
No,it runs off propane also..I used the breaker to kill it last trip. But being older it is a long way to the floor and back to diddle the breaker!!!
You have a Suburban water heater.
The OEM factory ON/OFF switch for electric heating is in lower left corner in outside compartment. Unless RV MFG installs an additional on/off switch inside that is the only one.
You can install one inside (vs moving that one) in series with that OEM one.
Stop using the 120V AC circuit breaker as an On/OFF switch.
There are ones designed for that 'abuse' but the ones used in RVs are NOT and you will be having to replace it
Just be glad you didn't have an older version of an Atwood (2003 and prior). The OEM factory ON/OFF switch was on cover over electric element on backside of water heater tank which is towards bottom.)
Usermanual.....with that handle you should read some manuals
