1998 Four Winds 22rk V10, weighed out at 11800 Lbs when we left. Speed limit in
Oregon is 55 mph on just about every road. We used 168 gallons of gas at
13 miles per gallon. I never saw a gas pump with 85 octane, 87 octane was the lowest. Prices in Idaho were $3.55 a gallon, in Oregon the range was $3.85 to $4.05. The Four Winds did just fine never gave a problem.
2341 miles divided by 168 gallons works out to about 13.9 miles per gallon. That's way above the norm for the Ford V10 powering an 11,800 lb. Class C ... even when traveling at 55 MPH.
Way to go! If all of us V10 RV'ers could achieve that, there might not be much interest in diesel engines for Class C rigs.
