MSRP on Class B

I had 2 dealers accept offers of 21% off not-inflated MSRPs on 2013 Roadtreks at the end of August. Interestingly, that's more than another dealer would go on a remainng 2012 RT 210; not even a counteroffer there that moved at all from what might have been a fair price for a 2013. In retrospect, maybe I could have started a little lower, but it worked out pretty well.

What chassis? Chevy,Ford or Sprinter? Chevy, Ford probably slightly more than the Sprinter models.
We got 22% off list on our 2 day out of the plant new ERA last April.

Thanks to all for your replies. I know the classB is a different market and this is a different time. I took the MSRP plus options on my '05 fifth wheel, subtracted 25% and they took my first offer. I should have started a little lower.

30% off a new class B. Won't happen. 15-20% maybe depending on model.

Maybe you should have Midnightsadie negotiate for you, because in my 11 years on this forum I have never heard of anyone getting 30% off of a new Class B.

I,D like to be the dealer that sells to you guys, I,d make lots of money. go for the gold you can always raise your offer. do your home work make sure you get the rv you want and haggle like hell on the bottom line.

Midnightsadie is wrong, there are specific manufacturer prices on class b units, for the most part you can get a Pleasure way price on their website and you can call them to fine tune it with freight. If you go to several class b sites, you will notice that they all for the most part publish the same msrp
for identical units. 30 percent doubtful, even on a 2013, year old used ones are still going at 70 percent of msrp or higher. Have them call Van City RV in St. Louis, they will give you a price over the phone and fly you up to pick it up.

You can negotiate up to 15 to 17% off the MSRP of a new Class B. You are not going to come near 30% off. If you go to more than one dealer, you have more negotiating power, as the three dealers that we went to each came up with a different price for the same year, model, and options ordered from the factory and took the lowest of the three to the dealer we liked the best to negotiate down. We got to 17% off the MSRP. Class Bs are expensive and the dealers know that they can get what they ask - but none of them wanted actual MSRP, each was discounting to some degree.

The way to go lower is to look for a year old on the showroom floor model that you want and if they are interested in moving inventory you can do a little better (but not that much- one dealer wanted almost the same price as new, current year for a new B that he had sitting on his lot for two years.)

"B"s are a tough market. I know where I live, if you want something that passes the 10 year rule, be prepared to pony up $50k or more.

As others have suggested, there is no set markup or discount on RVs, unlike cars. So, you're friend is going to have to rely on the old "supply and demand" to determine a good discount.
