Mud Wasps and bees

How do you keep mud wasps and bees from making your RV their home? Last year I put blue painters tape over all the openings and it works great at keeping the wasps out. Unfortunately the tape did not want to come off and it took several hours of peeling, scraping and washing to get it all off. Any suggestions are most welcome.
  • I don't get many building nests down low. Occasional wasp in my mirrors or squeeze through my bedroom awning windows.
My worst is the damn yellow jackets building nests in my AC shroud!
I'm allergic to bees, so climbing up on the roof in the summer scares the******outta me.
  • This is kinda odd to understand, how can a bee build a nest in your RV going down the road at 55, 65 mph.

  • If you read the fine print, the blue painters' tape says "do not leave in place" more than a few days. You found out why.

Any other holes in your camper, seal them up tight.

If they are making nests in your bumper, places like that, how about some good old bug spray. Saturate the area. The residue will keep them from landing. But, first rain, and it washes off. So you have to be persistent.

I have the same covers on my water heater and both furnace and my frig is blocked off because we install a RR frig.

Or you can make a temporary one yourself by using a brown lunch size paper bag with a ballon inside and tie the opening up and hang it nearby. Why temporary if it rains the bag gets wet annd may fall apart. But it does work.

Much better than "bug spray". If your problem is from Mason Bees, be glad you have them around, they are great little pollinators. Only one season life span so try not to kill them off before they can lay their eggs for the next years work.
