In the hospital on Friday 5:30 AM, surgery took 2 hours, recovery went quickly without much pain, left hospital on Saturday at noon. I go in a month for another ultrasound test and planning for surgery on the right carotid. I had a lot of nausea from the general anesthetic which kept me awake Friday night, which I understand is normal. I have some numbness near the surgery site which may go away with time. I am not to drive or lift heavy objects for a week.
Thanks again for all the prayers and encouragement, it meant a lot to me and my wife of 57 years. BTW, I highly recommend my vascular surgeon, Dr. Steven Posner and the nurses that support him at the Anaheim Memorial Medical Center, in Anaheim, CA.
