I had my right side carotid artery clean-out surgery on Thursday, morning Jan 12th. Doctor Posner said everything went well and surgery this time only took one hour and ten minutes. I had trouble sleeping due to some pain, the large bandage on my neck, attached heart and automatic BP monitoring equipment, IV's and drains plus "Foley" (catheter) and nurses coming in to check on me every hour to two hours. Basically you can't move without help. Thankfully I had no nausea from anesthesia this time.
I was released on Friday around 2:00 PM We stopped at Panda Express for lunch and I finally got to bed and slept from 9PM Thursday to 6AM on Friday. I have a cough and we will watch that and get medication for that if needed. My right side neck and face are swollen but that mostly goes away after a couple of weeks leaving some numbness in the neck. I am not to do heavy lifting for now but will be able to drive and resume normal activities in a week to ten days. I can work on my RC model planes in couple of days.
Looking forward to knee replacement surgery in the future.
Thanks for your interest and prayers.
