Here’s a photo of the front of my RV taken a few months ago while I was at an RV park north of Houston

Here’s a photo of my rigs mighty 460 V8 taken from inside the RV. Yep, believe it or not there’s an engine underneath all that “stuff”. I took this photo just before I replaced all the lifters thinking the knock was from a bad hydraulic lifter.

Underneath my two tarps in a large plastic shipping crate is my newly rebuilt engine complete with the proper cylinder heads (unlike the engine it’s replacing that the former own swapped out the original FI ported heads for earlier carburation ported heads). I wondered how O’Reilly’s could sell a fully rebuilt engine for $1,899. The answer was on the shipping crate “made in Mexico” ARRRIBA!

And so it begins, I got a late start this morning and then quit early to share an early Mother’s Day lunch (in spirit) with my late wife. Gail and I used to celebrate holidays and such the day before or after the actual holiday to avoid crowds. Hopefully I’ll get a lot more done tomorrow. Monday I'll be picking up the engine hoist that I've rented for a week. Also a friend will be coming out from Houston on Monday to help. He's not as experienced as I am but he's eager to learn.
