Since I’m taking the time to post this (and currently killing off a little time before lunch) I’d like to grouse a little about inconsiderate engineering. Below is a photo I hi-lighted showing where the brain surgeons at Ford decided to place the dynamic engine timing pointer on my Ford 460 V8. I have to wonder if they really are idiots or just sadistic sociopaths. Thankfully, I should be able to do the dynamic engine timing before I put the cooling fan and radiator back on. My question is, how do you time the engine if you don’t have the luxury of having the fan and radiator off that I currently have? Over the years I’ve seen lots of inconsiderate engineering but this example takes the cake!
