I removed the intake manifold for two reasons.
1. It looked as if I'd need the clearance to get it out, though I wasn't sure.
2. It had to come off anyhow so that I could reinstall it on my new rebuilt engine assembly.
Looking at it now I probably needed to only take the FI throttle body off the manifold. However, I'm glad for any extra clearance I can get.
