Hey, Steve. Your engine area looks very similar to my '91 HR with the tight clearance on the left and wide open on the right. I grew-up with and been around 60's & 70's Fords all my life, so the gray paint on these "newer" engines looked horrid to me. I decided to go retro on the color about the same time I installed the Banks exhaust system.
Good luck with your project.

Beautiful work! I'd love to get mine looking so pristine but I'm afraid it ain't going to happen. As long as it runs well and is reliable I'm a happy camper!
I have a few questions.
1. Did your engine have an air pump on it or did you take it off?
2. I'm planning on installing Banks headers in the future (can't afford to at this time). Will the headers mount up with exhaust pipes that the manifolds were mounted to or do you have to get the entire system? My exhaust system is stainless and though it has surface rust it generally appears to be pretty sound. I know that in the past I had a 98 Dodge Caravan and sold it at 286K with the original SS exhaust system still intact and that was driving it up in the Chicago area rust belt.
As for HR you've just confirmed that their engineers are sadistic people.
