I've done about a dozen engine swaps in my life usually involving car or light truck engines. I'll normally buy a low mileage used engine. However, since it's my understanding that the last Ford 460 V8 was built in 1998 I imagine low mileage used engines are hard to find. Hence the rebuilt engine and yes your concerns are mine as well.
