I used a drill and a dismantled distributor to spin the oil pump on mine until I had lots of oil coming out the push rods.
I rolled the dice on the trans. I unbolted it from the engine, slid the TC back and didn't mess with it otherwise. I figured since it was moving when the engine blew, if it ain't broke....
