Wow, I must be the luckiest guy in San Marcos! When I posted previously I hadn’t yet gone out and seen the flooding devastation that started a mere 3 blocks or less to the west of my location. The same nearby RV park I stayed at in 2013 had about 3’-4’ of flood water run though it! The Blanco River located about a mile west of me, which reaches flood stage at 13’, was up to +40’ at the height of the flood inundating the 4-lane bridge I use every day when I go into San Marcos. It also flooded nearby I-35. Then after missing the bullet on Saturday Mother Nature sends another huge storm through the area late Sunday. Yesterday’s storm passed by me on the east. Even though the major part of the storm was east of me I actually had more flooding than I did on Saturday, but fortunately not enough to affect my worksite where my still non-running RV is still parked. Though not at all common, my worksite has flooded at least once with up to 2’-3’ of water in the past which is why I consider myself so lucky.
BTW the work on the RV is almost done but I’ve been on hold for want of a few parts and a special tool. Everything’s on order and I hope to complete the work by early next week. Then at the very least I’m getting the hell up to higher ground!
