He may consider going on a roadtrip for spring break or summer break.
if and when that happens, he can get new tires then, not 3 years before. of course if road trip is only a few miles, I wouldn't bother.

I've definitely thought about getting new tires right away, but I hadn't even thought that I'm probably going to be sitting in her for a while. I don't really plan on traveling much until I can afford to take a full year or two off, so I may just be patient and get new tires a few years down the road.
