Many people will tell you how many years they have RV'd without a problem. Many people will tell you how many years they have lived in their stick house without a problem.
All of that means nothing if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. People have experienced theft from their RV's and people traveling in RV's have been murdered.
Does it happen often??? NO
Can it happen to you??? Maybe
Situational awareness is your best weapon. If something just doesn't feel right, it is time to go somewhere else.
Overall, the rate of crime is declining and that may be because of more police, better video surveillance, more citizens armed, etc.
Should you worry about it??? NO
Should you be aware of the possibility of becoming a victim of crime???? Yes
