My wife is concerned about personal security

Only once in over 5 years of travel have we felt anxious. We were in a Walmart parking lot and an intoxicated man knocked on our door wanting money. We told him we were calling the police and he left. We did NOT open the door!! We use common sense. We don't usually stop in parking lots but sometimes we don't have a choice. Many others do with no problem. We prefer campgrounds with hookups. We arrive at our new destination early so we can get settled in before dark. We keep our door locked and don't open for anyone that we don't know. We keep our cell phone charged at all times. We keep the emergency phone numbers that the park provides handy. We know what city and county we're in. We don't camp in remote places. Many do with no problems. An RV is no more unsafe than any other place. Just be alert and aware as you would do anywhere else.
