Name this class B sprinter conversion

Hi,

I saw an interesting sprinter conversion a few years ago and may want to buy one now. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it and can't find it after hours of internet searches. I hope one of you can help me.

The van had a high fiberglass roof that extended over the cab like you see on some class C motorhomes. There was a mattress in that high roof.

The rear of the van contained the shower/toilet combo.

The driving, passenger and first row seat was basically standard stuff. The seat probably turned into a bed or something.

The drivers side behind the second row seating had the sink, kitchen cabinets, etc.

The passenger side behind the door had a European style refrigerator that was top loading and not very big.

The upholstery was yellow and grey (I think) and highly durable fabric. The floors were NOT carpeted and were made for easy cleaning. I don't remember the material. It might have been rubberized.

I saw this RV about 8 to 10 years ago at a dealer in Florida about halfway between Orlando and Tampa. They had several units in stock. I would greatly appreciate any help in finding out which make and model it was.

Thanks.

Travis

  • I looked up the RT Agile SS. Head room is 6'3". I'm 6'2" without shoes which makes the fit very tight. I also have very wide shoulders and the narrow "hallway" to the back through the galley is uncomfortable to turn around in.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a more spacious class B (similar to the Airstream Westfalia)? I realize you give up certain things like lots of storage and extra seating with this type of van.

Unfortunately, I am uncomfortable in my RT Popular 190. Getting in and out is an event, I'm always bent over and turning around in the thing takes some doing. The van has lot's of great features and is quality, yada-yada but I find that I don't use it.

    Thanks!
  • Arizona Kid,

Thanks for the tips to find the camper. Your assessment of the interior is accurate. The top bed is difficult to get into. Thanks for your tips on the other models. I will check them out.

    Fred,

That was it. Thanks for sending the link.

    snowman 9000,

    Thanks.

I haven't found any of those models for sale right now. I did find several places with models that have already sold. I'll check out other models that may have the features I want.
  • The Westfalia was made in 2004 to I think 2006 on a Sprinter chassis. Try searching this forum for Westfalia, use the "older than a year" criteria. There was not a lot of them manufactured, and the fact that they are getting close to 10 years old, will make finding a decent one at a good price pretty difficult. Also, getting into the bunk bed was not easy. I remember looking at them when they first came out, kind of cool, but a lot of plastic, and pretty cramped. JMO
If its just the height you need, I would think any of the 144" wheel base Sprinters, like RT's SS Agile, would fill your needs.
  • Thank you. It is the airstream westfalia. I can't find one for sale. Do you know of any other similar class B's on the market?

I am 6'2" and am tired of bending over in my RoadTrek Popular 190. The high head room, integrated shower/toilet and open feel of the van are major selling features to me. The durable fabric and easy clean floors are too. I don't care for the small refrigerator and lack of storage space but I decided I could live with those shortcomings.
