I would like to travel the Parkway in the next couple of weeks.I will be traveling in a 36ft gasser towing. Any info about camogrounds, fuel stops, do's and don'ts and don't miss.

At this moment there are no gas stops on the Trace. The only gas station is being rebuilt. Just off the trace near Tupelo,MS there are gas stations as well as Jackson, MS. Suggest you get GAS BUDDY to help you find a station. On the Trace there are three very nice primitive Campgrounds by NPS.There is a very good book on the trace which someone else will remember the name of.e

We have traveled it several times. One of our favorite routes! We stayed at one of the parks along the route with our 37 ft dp and found it a little tight. There are private campgrounds just off the trace, We like Campground at Barnes Crossing in Tupelo and Riverview in Vidalia, La, across from Natchez. If you start with a full tank fuel should not be a problem. I think the entire route from Nashville to Natchez is about 450 miles. I get only 7 mph and I had plenty of fuel. I filled up in Vidalia, after and before driving the Trace. Lots of pull outs with historical info. Be sure to stop at all. Beautiful area, and watch out for the wildlife!Remember the speed limit is 50! Enjoy!

Take your time and stop at all the pullouts. We have stayed at all three campgrounds and find part of the charm of the Trace is staying at them and avoiding any commercial traffic or trappings. We typically read books on the history of the area in the evening to minimize generator usage.

We stayed at all campgrounds in a small RV. Campground at Rock Spring MS is the best one and only one with ample spaces for your RV. I think the middle one is really too small for you, as we had trouble even with our 25 footer. Don't recall the size of sites at the other one.All services will be offroad at the intersections as Trace is purely a scenic road. Rangers enforce speed limits closely, we were told. Be sure to visit Elvis home at Tupelo. We are not fans but we found the site to be a very good memory.Bikes can be a problem. The road is narrow and somewhat curvy so passing can be difficult. Avoid weekends as bikers seem to use road then.

There are lots of scenic small towns along the trace. Almost all of them have RV Parks. This time of year you need to watch out for turkeys and deer along the road.

If you're driving the Trace, plan on stopping here at lunch time!!! You will love the chicken.

We just came up the Trace. We spent 2 days in Natchez and took 4 days to come up the trace to Nashville. We stayed at the middle and north NFS campgrounds. Room was fine. We are 55 feet hooked up. There were coaches in both spots.

Stopping frequently makes it a very enjoyable trip.

Just finished driving most of it from Tennessee to Natchez and just loved it. Wide road, no traffic and lots of history and scenery. We stayed in state parks and they were delightful. (Full disclosure - we are fully self contained, but we did see plenty of fifth wheels and Class A's with toads.) We stopped at many of the pulloffs and hiked and explored the exibits.

Natchez was a lot of fun; we stayed three days at the Riverview RV and Marine camp site. The nicest campsite we have seen, with shaded spots right on the Mississippi. The reception area is more like that of a hotel than a typical campsite and the laundry facilities were wonderful for our weekly catch up.

Natchez itself is easily worth a day or two of tourism and you can park a reasonably sized camper in the visitor center and walk into the downtown. The Mississippi provides an endless parade of barge tows, trains, and tourist boats.

As others have indicated, we liked it so much, we will be back

Drive it usually twice a year, a wonderful slow drive, Scottiemom loves. Check out Tishomingo SP and Piney Grove COE CG on Bay Springs Lake, both close to the NE MS border. Both are great parks for an overnight or a week. Also Red Bay AL the home of Tiffin Motor Homes is just about 20 miles south. A plant tour is worth the trip as is the Tiffin Motor Homes Service Area store for all kinds of RV parts and supplies. We will be at Piney Grove 1st week of June for 4 nights to attend a family reunion about 20 miles away.

Mostly a narrow road with no shoulders, with bicyclers that have the right of way over everyone pedaling about 15mph.

This time of year the free campgrounds may be full of snowbirds trying to get back north. The language may be different then the one you speak also in the free parks.

With all that said, it's a very nice low blood pressure drive. Tupelo, MS is the birth place of Elvis, and it also has good BBQ.

After two days on it, I was happy to be making miles again to a destination area.
