National Tropical windshield corner break?

The upper outer corner of the Passenger side windshield has broken again. Second time in past 2-3 years. No evidence of rock chip. The breaks are roughly circular centered around the corner of the glass.

Wonder if this is a stress point? Have other National owners experienced the same problem?
  • If you have crack and are going to live with it take it to or call out a chip repair person and have him drill the end of the crack to stop it from running.
  • I would take it to a good vr body shop. The best I know is Xtreme paint and graphics in Texas. A two day trip. They will figure out why and redo the front window openings to make it work. I saw them do this on a coach and was impressed.
  • 2001 Tradewinds--Drove thru a small roadside trough to park MH and cracked upper left windshield. Next day drove out a 100 feet further on to get back on road and right upper corner cracked. 1st window shop couldn't fix it. 2nd shop tried to align windshield openings and it was 4 inches off. Finally took it to 3rd shop and they put a 2 inch shim under right rear air bag. Fixed it but I now have another crack on right upper corner and I plan to live with it until water starts pouring in. Unit has a history of windshield trouble. Might have started when a full grown buzzard, vulture took out drivers window on Tamiami highway when I was going 55 MPH. Sounds like your frame is twisted a tad. It has been several years since the shim install and drive and steering is perfect. However I do have a lot of silicone on the seal.
