Owning and using any RV is a time and money consuming hobby whether you DIY or take your RV to a competent RV service often and pay them to maintain your house battery/charging system and fix/replace any plumbing/electrical/etc. problem that comes up. Also DIY or pay someone wash and wax the outside and take it to a mechanic for periodic oil and filter changes, brake and cooling system service, etc. You must keep track of tire condition and date codes and have tires replaced at 5 or 6 year intervals.
RV ownership and maintenance is not really comparable to owning a car or SUV, more like owning, operating and maintaining a cabin cruiser boat or an airplane. Some seem to enjoy DIY maintenance as much as camping and touring.
Well said.
Even with the quality control and effort the Boeing puts into an airplane. There is a lot of work and time spent maintaining the aircraft once it is put into service
