The gate is much higher than the mirrors. The real interference is with the DC motor that opens the gate. That's where I'm taking my measurements from. It's not impossible to relocate the motor lower, but it operates on 1/4 inch welded on steel brackets that would have to be relocated which would be a big job. The DC motor is at mirror level. I could have located it near the ground, but rain splash would get dirt on the jack screw. Could you guys give me names of rigs that are 8 foot wide rather than 8.5 wide? Is there any particular manufacturer? I appreciate the information on the mirrors. The rig I was looking at was a 2002 Bounder and the mirrors would swivel, but the supports we're fixed to the body with 4 screws and not easily removable. I can't modify the fence, it's the boundary between me and the neighbor. You know how neighbors are about that. Thanks to all you guys for your good information.
