Easy one first... C Rainbirds your problem is a bad thermistor ($25 on Ebay). Since you can put it on 1 you can check using the display on the door by down loading this. Section 9 page 75.
DSDP Don, This problem has nothing to do with the Amish cooling unit as the control board is still NorCold. If I'd known three years ago what I just learned this past week I might have gone home refer instead of a Amish cooling unit. We boondock often and my 2000W Xantrax inverter/charger will only charge 70 amps for five minutes then it drops down to 40 or less on my 800AH battery bank. Turns out there is a 33% decrease in charging using the generator over shore power. So yes IF I'd spent $2000 on a new 3000W inverter charger, #1500 on the Samsung, and $1000 on making room for it plus getting it in I'm sure I'd be happier than the $1200 for the Amish cooling unit installed and now $145 for a new control board... MAYBE.
Why Maybe? I've been able to move the thermistor from the fins to the side of the case near the door and have tricked the control board into working OK getting a reading of 35 instead of 25 from the thermistor. I'll go ahead and buy the new board and add it or the old one to my large supply of parts. Now if I can remember were I've stored some of them.
