Need Help w/ Winterizing - water pump not working

I've been through the steps to winterize, but my pump isn't working right and won't pump the pink stuff to the sink, tub our toilet. Here's what I've done: Drained and plugged off the hot water heat...

If you put pink stuff in your fresh water tank, you might not have enough to pump yet. There's always some on the bottom that never drains.

Also, if you did not by-pass the water heater, it's filling up with pink stuff and will not start pumping to the faucets until it's full (6 gallons).

What probably happened, if you did not bypass the water heater, you've already pumped out evrything in the fresh water tank and the water heater is not full yet. So the pump is pumping air now.
