If you decide to replace the Magnum you might want to know about their design/cost tradeoffs - this applies to most/all of their units.
1. It will NOT charge the rated amps unless it has 120V on the units AC input terminals. 120V at the pedestal and it will not charge 100A for example. My MS2012 rated 100A typically charges a maximum of 80A. This is likely only a concern if minimizing gen run time is a factor.
2. Their typical non battery monitor incorrectly displays the charge rate. The design determines the charge rate based on the AC input. Typically mine displays 100A when it's only charging 80A. The display and actual charge rate converge as the charge rate drops.
I discovered the above after installing a battery monitor and double checking with a ammeter. Magnum has confirmed the above.
Otherwise they have excellent inverter/chargers.
