Actually I'm wondering why both of you don't have AC. I would expect that the ATS would default to the AC input. After all it's just a relay.
I'd try this, perhaps call Magnum first: Disconnect the DC and see if that allows AC on the output. If you do this be safe: Remove the negative DC cable from the battery, then the positive cable from the unit and secure it very well, then reconnect the battery cable.
But these are temp patches and in the end it will need to be repaired.
