Need help with tow wiring

Update!!

I really didn't want to open up the rear hatch on my brand new Cherokee, but I had to finish this. I started prying the inside panel loose, and lo and behold a small panel pops loose and there is the back of the left tail light. I look and there is another panel behind the other light. I then slap my forehead and utter DUH.

The wire color is white with a light green trace. I cut it, inserted the diode and I am done with it.

Thanks for the feedback. I think we will start seeing a lot of these new Cherokees behind motor homes in the future.

We love it so far with only 650 miles on it and a trip coming up next month.

Not on most new Jeeps. They have left and right side fuses, but each feeds 2 different color wires out of the TIPM.

Well pulling the tail light is a possibility. The new Cherokee splits the tail light in two parts. One mounted on the body outboard and the other on the lift gate. I was able to get the outboard part off, but it isn't the part i need to look at. The part mounted on the lift gate won't come off. There are two nuts and when removed it looks like they will come off but I hate to break something trying to force it.

Pull the taillight assembly. There is lots of room as said above and easy find the correct wires.

Pull a taillight and check the color of the wiring. You may get lucky and it's the same in your bundle.

I have a bundle of about 150 wires in the driver side door sill.I have id'd the brake/turn signals and installed the diodes (there is room) I just can't figure out which of the other 148 or so wires supplies the tail lights. I was hoping someone on here has already been there.

On our 2011 Grand Cherokee I was able to pop out the whole tail light assembly and had room between it and the body to install the diodes. Was a lot easier than trying to trace down wires within the vehicle. If you really want to know where the wires are you can purchase a factory repair manual from jeep (Chilton and Haynes are worthless). The are a couple hundred $$ but they will show you exactly where the wire harness is.
