We have never had any problems getting into any campground that we want to due to our size (unless they were full). The tags lift so you have a very nice turning radius.
A tag also allows you ample CCC so that you never have to worry about the extra weight. And, I like having a tag to rotate a set of fresh tires to the front if needed. If you have one front go flat and need a new tire, I would put the tags on the front and that one new tire on the tag so that your fronts will match.
We are going larger on our new coach so I have no worries about getting into any campground that we want to visit (within reason of course). We don't go to state campgrounds so if that's an issue, you may want to go shorter than 40 ft.
