We have the Newmar Dutch Star in the 40' model. It's exactly 40' and has the tag. I wanted my next coach to have a tag for handling, so that was never an issue. The only issue with the 40' and a tag is the loss of storage space. The side radiator and a huge exhaust system (DEF) also eat up space.
