There are sure a lot of really talented people responding here and I deeply appreciate your time but what I really need is simplicity and low to no maintenance. I have several friends with class A buses and similar solar capacity systems and they don't have anywhere near the troubles I'm having. I don't want to toss my current Interstate batteries but buying hydrometers, doing energy audits, checking charge capacities, etc. just isn't my thing.
Before the purists out there jump all over me let me say, I work 60-70 hours a week and when I have a weekend off and I want to get away, I just want the darn thing to work! I've been messing with this system for so long, trying anything and everything to get it right and I'm just worn out.
My fridge and water heater run off gas or electric, I've converted everything in the coach to LED, I watch my consumption while camping, etc. My inverter system remote inside the coach also has a remote generator start so if volts get too low, the gen kicks on but I envy my buddies camping next to me who camp the same way I do and have no battery or charging problems at all!
So If new AGM or Maintenance free batteries will get me camping, great. As was mentioned earlier, I have a big generator and I'm not afraid to use it. I paid $1200 for the solar, installed. Yes I know you get what you pay for but then again I didn't expect that solar would eliminate the need for the generator. With all that being said, where do I go from here?
