Need some tires

Looks like the 2007 class A I'm looking to buy will need tires, it currently has the original Michelin 235/80/22.5. I've called several places in NJ (northern and central) and no one seems to have this size tire. Any suggestion on tire shops in the area that would have the Michelin or maybe a different size.

I thought about changing tire brand/size as the Michelins are quite expensive
  • X2 on FMCA. The going discount is about $85 per tire. Its worth finding someome in your area participating in the progran for that if you want Michlin's
  • I just replaced my 255/70R22.5 last year with yokahamas because the old ones were 10 years old. 6 tires, new valves, mounted and spin balanced & taxes out the door was $2,400. Then sold the take offs for $425.
  • The 235/80r22.5 is strictly a Michelin tire size. From what I have read people are going to a 245/75r22.5 tire size so they can find tires from other brands that are comparable in size to the original tires. As for brands, Hankook & toyo are very popular. Stay away from Goodyears as they seem to be having problems, not for everyone but enough that I would not chance them. I went with Sailun tires on our MH and have been very pleased with them. They are available in 255/70r22.5 size, which may be too wide for your rims.

Good luck on your hunt for tires.

I was born and raised in Bergan County NJ.(1949-1967) As far as buying tires I would look into the FMCA program. If you join Family Motor Coach Association you are eligible to buy Michelin tires at a discount. The cost of the membership is around $40 and I saved over $500 for tires on my Allegro Bay two years ago. The web site also has a place where you can click to see where you can purchase them in your area. Good luck!
