Negotiating tips

Well, we've got the bug for a new or lightly used class A, but one thing that is holding me back (other than the financial aspects) is the negotiation process with a dealer. I absolutely dread it. I hate being holed up in a corner somewhere and having three or four people ganging up on me. Salesmen, sales managers, finance guys, store managers........ It's a nightmare.

What tips or suggestions can you folks suggest to try and make the process at least bearable?

Heavy sigh, and thanks.

Remember you always have the ability to walk out. Hand them a card with your phone number on it and say "this is the offer" and walk. Its your money and your choice.

X3. You don't have to be holed up with several people ganging up on you. Just tell them you will talk to one person. If they don't agree, walk away.
I'm sure they will call you the next day.
  • Don't deal in person
After your test drive/inspection say you'll think about it and then text the salesman an offer
    Don't answer the phone calls
    Negotiate strickly by text
Bought a Coachman yesterday that exact way-even shopped for and applied for financing that way
I despise high pressure and tricks/games/tactics myself
    Good Luck, Mike

  • If you dont have the ability to negotiate there are professionals that will do it for you. Of course they charge a fee.
