I sold motorhomes for a short period. Difference between the Manuf. suggested retail sticker price and the distributor's invoice cost is approx. 40%, a good offer is to calculate their cost and offer them 10% over their pack (cost). They should sale it for that. If desperate they may sell for less and of course if they are getting any special factory incentives, they will definitely sell for less. Good Luck.
Actually if you divide the MSRP by 1.4 you will have what the dealer has in the unit. Add what you think is a fair profit, a minimum of $2500, and you have what you should work for. I used this formula for the last new gasser I bought and the dealer accepted it. The trick is to find out the factory MSRP, not some trumped up one the dealer stuck on the unit himself. If you divide $141000 by 1.4 you get $100,700, or a 29% discount. It could be that some smaller dealers need more than a $2500 profit margin to operate, but I've purchased four new units using this formula over the years and the deal was accepted every time. Now a trade-in really muddies the water. But, even with a trade its a good place to start and see what you are really getting for your trade-in.
