My day/nite shades (4 of them)....constantly needed re-stringing...a genuine PITA, Removed them, took them to "Blinds to Go" and for $135 (at the time) had them replaced by mini-blinds.
Of course, the plastic mounting brackets were slightly different in size, so I had to replace them...used the same mounting holes...and they fit perfectly.
One of the better changes I've made.
