Every semi up to five hundred hp must be retrofitted with one unit at about 30,000.00 per. Most semis are running 550 hp so they must have two units or 60,000 bucks. This is old news by about two years, I think. Given another 10 years there won't be whole lot of business left there....maybe anywhere.
The last primary lead smelter, in the US, Doe Run, in Missouri, is being forced to close by new regulations, in December that would cost them 100,000,000.00 to implement. The smelter has been in operation since 1892.
Wouldn't is be easier to just have the engine derated to 475HP?
