new class c

We are looking at new MH's to use for part time living, wintering in the south. After a lot of looking, DW picked out the Sunseeker 3010DS.
I like it too. Does any one have any experience with this MH? I have had 2 Forest River TT in the past, and like the brand.

  • How much time Wintering in Florida will you spend? Is it 2 weeks or 4 months? The reason this is important is you need to make sure whatever rig you choose has the Occupant & Cargo Carrying Capacity (OCCC) to safely get you to and from Florida. The longer you plan on staying, most likely the more stuff you will need to carry, then necessarily the higher OCCC you need. Slideouts, levelers, and larger Class C rigs all detract from OCCC. Best wishes on your search.

  • If you don't need the cabover bed, check out the Winnebago Aspect. They make 2 sizes. We bought a 2013 this past January and love the layout!! We went from a 27' Lexington to a Winnebago on advice from many of our RVing friends….they were spot on! However, if you want the cabover bed, try the Winnebago Access…but add the levelers. We were Airstreamers for several years, then the Lexie with no levelers, now our new RV child has the whole enchilada (for us anyway). IMO, levelers are the best RV invention ever…especially if you've lived without them.
Enjoy your search…and please post what you end up with.
  • I went to a local county RV Show about a month ago and saw a Forest River Forester 2501TS on a Chevy Chassis and fell in love!!
I have been buying lottery tickets ever since! :)
Googling around it seems that the Chevy gets better mileage than the Ford.
Also while googling I found that the prices really vary by dealer and there are some real price differences so if you check around you can save some serious money.
Here is a very long post about the Chevy/Ford C debate- http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/26290445.cfm
A lot of interesting info in it.
  • I think you mean 3010DS, not 2010DS? If so, you can go back and edit your post if you wish.
We looked at one and really liked it, but that's all I've got for you. :)
