It's good to get in the habit to turn it off and recycle at lunch or for breaks rather than forget and leave it on all night. Done that a few times. I think it says to do it every eight hours. We rarely drive more than six. I had battery issues a few times when towing several days straight and not recharging. It also brings out the worst of a 3-4 year old battery.
It's not a if deal to get in and do the procedure.
