New E450 with tow/haul question
My old Winnebago E350 4R100 had overdrive and I would turn it off when climbing a steep grade or go down a long grade for braking. What's the difference with the Tow/Haul on the 5 speed. Same usage?...

If you get your scangauge watch for the elusive 4th gear. Normally these transmissions shift 1-2-3-5-6. Once in a while in a downshift from 6th gear they will drop to 4th gear-this is the only way they'll go into 4th. Just a small window of speed and load will get 4th gear.
Like you I'd prefer a full on 6 speed automatic, but for mellow driving this one seems to be fine. It sure feels and sounds heavy duty.
